Safety Data Sheet
There are nearly 2 million people worldwide infected by Leishmania on a yearly basis. Protozoan parasites are transmitted by the bite of infected female phlebotomine sandflies which leads to Leishmania infection. There are three dominant forms of leishmaniases:Cutaneous (most abundant), mucocutaneous and visceral ( most fatal with no treatment ).Visceral leishmaniasis is caused by Leishmania donovani, maoc-family dehydratase-like protein which is derived from urine containing visceral leishmaniasis. Maoc Family Dehydratase-Like Protein gene is part of an operon along with MAOA which is functions in the production of monoamine oxidase. MAOC protein demonstratesaffinity with a region located in a vast variety of enzymes, like peroxisomal hydratase-dehydrogenase-epimerase & fatty acid synthase b-subunit.
Description
Recombinant Leishmania Donovani Maoc Family Dehydratase-Like Protein produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 157 amino acids having a molecular mass of 18 kDa.
The Maoc Family Dehydratase-Like Protein is fused to a 6xHis tag at C-terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
