LSM5 also known as LSM5 Homolog, U6 Small Nuclear RNA Associated belongs to the Sm protein family. This family is identified in a variety of organisms based on sequence homology. Sm-like proteins contain the Sm sequence motif, which consists of 2 regions separated by a linker of variable length which folds as a loop. In addition, the Sm-like proteins are thought to create a stable heteromer present in tri-snRNP particles, which are important for pre-mRNA splicing. Among the diseases associated with LSM5 are spinal muscular atrophy, and muscular atrophy.

Anti-human LSM5 mAb, is derived from hybridization of mouse F0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with a recombinant human LSM5 protein 1-91 amino acids purified from E. coli.

Purification Method

LSM5 antibody was purified from mouse ascitic fluids by protein-A affinity chromatography.


1mg/ml containing PBS, pH-7.4, 10% Glycerol and 0.02% Sodium Azide.

Storage Procedures

For periods up to 1 month store at 4°C, for longer periods of time, store at -20°C. 
Prevent freeze thaw cycles.

Stability / Shelf Life

12 months at -20°C. 1 month at 4°C.


LSM5 antibody has been tested by ELISA, Western blot analysis, Flow cytometry and ICC/IF to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results.
