CD40L or CD154 is a membrane glycoprotein and differentiation antigen expressed on the surface of T-cells. The CD40 ligand stimulates B-cell proliferation and secretion of all immunoglobulin isotypes in the presence of cytokines. CD40 ligand has been shown to induce cytokine production and tumoricidal activity in peripheral blood monocytes. It also costimulates proliferation of activated T-cells and this is accompanied by the production of IFN-gamma , TNF-alpha , and IL2.
sCD40L Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 169 amino acids (113-261a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 18.3kDa.
sCD40L is fused to a 20 amino acid His tag at N-Terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
sCD40L protein (0.5mg/ml) contains 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0), 0.2M NaCl, 1mM DTT and 40% glycerol.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Greater than 95.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA with Human CD40/TNFRSF5.
