Synonyms

REN, HNFJ2, Renin, Angiotensinogenase.

Introduction

Renin is a highly specific endopeptidase which generates angiotensin I from angiotensinogen in the plasma. angiotensin I is an important regulator of blood pressure and electrolyte balance. Renin initiates a cascade of reactions that produce an elevation of blood pressure and increased sodium retention by the kidney.

Description

REN Human Recombinant produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 391 amino acids (24-406) and having a molecular mass of 43.3kDa (Molecular size on SDS-PAGE will appear at approximately 40-57kDa).
REN is fused to 8 amino acid His-Tag at C-terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Source

Sf9, Baculovirus cells.
