Introduction

Cold inducible RNA-binding protein (CIRBP) has a protective role in the genotoxic stress response by stabilizing transcripts of genes involved in cell survival. CIRBP localizes to the nucleus and contains one RRM (RNA recognition motif) domain. Expressed ubiquitously, CIRBP is believed to play a crucial role in the suppression of cellular proliferation in response to UV irradiation or extreme cold.

Description

CIRBP produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 192 amino acids (1-172 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 20.8kDa.
CIRBP is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Source

Escherichia Coli.

Physical Appearance

Sterile Filtered colorless solution.

Formulation

CIRBP protein solution (0.5mg/ml) containing 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0), 1mM DTT, 50% glycerol and 0.1M NaCl.

Stability

Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
