Introduction

Left-Right Determination Factor 1 (LEFTY1) belongs to the TGF-beta family of proteins. LEFTY1 is required for left-right axis determination as a regulator of LEFTY2 and NODAL. An analogous secreted protein in mouse has a role in left-right asymmetry determination of organ systems during development. The LEFTY1 gene is closely linked to both a related family member and a related pseudogene.

Description

LEFTY1 Human Recombinant produced in HEK cells is a glycosylated monomer, having a total molecular weight of 38kDa.
The LEFTY1 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Source

HEK.

Physical Appearance

Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.

Formulation

The LEFTY1 was lyophilized from 1mg/ml in 1xPBS.

Solubility

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized LEFTY1 in sterile water not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Stability

Lyophilized LEFTY1 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution LEFTY1 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Purity

Greater than 90% as obsereved by SDS-PAGE.

Biological Activity

The specific activity was determined by dose dependent ability to inhibit BMP-4 (6.5 ng/mL) induction of alkaline phosphatase production in the MC-3T3-E1 cell line (Mouse chondrogenic cell line) and is typically 10-40ng/ml.
