Complement
Component 9 also known as C9 is the final component of the complement system.
C9 plays a part in the formation of the Membrane Attack Complex (MAC). The MAC
gathers on bacterial membranes to form a pore, permitting disruption of
bacterial membrane organization. Component C9 deficiency is caused by mutations
in this gene. Among the diseases associated with C9 are c9 deficiency, and
primary amebic meningoencephalitis.
Description
C9 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single,
non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 561 amino acids (22-559 a.a) and
having a molecular mass of 63.4kDa.
C9 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus
& purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Formulation
C9 protein solution (0.5mg/ml) containing 20mM Tris-HCl
buffer (pH 8.0), 10% glycerol and 0.4M Urea.
Stability
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
