Introduction

SCGN is a secreted calcium-binding protein which is found in the cytoplasm. It is related to calbindin D-28K and calretinin. Secretagogin is involved in KCL-stimulated calcium flux and cell proliferation.
Secretagogin plays a role in human non-functional pituitary adenomas.

Description

Secretagogin Rat Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 286 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 33.3 kDa.
The Rat SCGN is fused to a 10 a.a. His tag at N-Terminus.
The protein’s amino acids sequence is identical to UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot entry Q6R556.
The Rat SCGN is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Physical Appearance

Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.

Formulation

The sterile filtered concentrated protein solution was lyophilized with 20mM Tris & 50mM NaCl pH-7.5.

Reconstitution

Add deionized water to a working concentration of 0.5mg/ml and let the lyophilized pellet dissolve completely.

Storage

Store lyophilized protein at -20°C. Aliquot the product after reconstitution to avoid repeated freezing/thawing cycles. Reconstituted protein can be stored at 4°C for a limited period of time.

Purity

Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
