SARS-Associated Coronavirus Envelope Recombinant

Introduction:
SARS Coronavirus is an enveloped virus containing three outer structural proteins, namely the membrane (M), envelope (E), and spike (S) proteins. Spike (S)-glycoprotein of the virus interacts with a cellular receptor and mediates membrane fusion to allow viral entry into susceptible target cells. Accordingly, S-protein plays an important role in virus infection cycle and is the primary target of neutralizing antibodies.

Description:
The E.coli derived 43 kDa recombinant protein contains the N-terminus Enevelope protein 1-76 amino acids immunodominant regions.

Purification Method:
SARS Envelope protein was purified by proprietary chromatographic technique.

Purity:
SARS Envelope protein is >95% pure as determined by 10% PAGE(coomassie staining).

Formulation:
50mM Tris-HCl, 60mM NaCl, and 50% glycerol.

Storage:
SARS Envelope Protein is shipped at ambient temperature.
Upon arrival, store at -20⁰C.

Stability:
Five year frozen, 6 month at +4⁰C.

Specificity:
SARS Envelope protein is Immunoreactive with sera of SARS-infected individuals.

Applications:
SARS Envelope antigen is suitable for ELISA and Western blots, excellent antigen for detection of SARS with minimal specificity problems.
