IFN-gamma produced by lymphocytes activated by specific antigens or mitogens. IFN-gamma, in addition to having antiviral activity, has important immunoregulatory functions, it is a potent activator of macrophages, and has antiproliferative effects on transformed cells and it can potentiate the antiviral and antitumor effects of the type I interferons.

In lyophilized form, for long periods, store at 4oC in a dry environment. After reconstitution, if not intended for use within a month, aliquot and store at -20oC.
Reconstitute with sterile H20. Mix gently, wash the sides of the vial and wait 30-60 seconds before use.
Two years lyophilized, one month in solution at 4oC.
Direct ELISA, Western Blot, Immuneprecipitation, Intracellular staining.
By direct ELISA, 1:8,000 dilution will yield 0.5 O.D using alkaline phosphatase conjugated rabbit anti-mouse Ig (Jackson Laboratories).
