Introduction

IGFBP6 plays a role in lipoprotein assembly and dietary cholesterol absorption. in addition to its acyltransferase activity, it may act as a ligase. may provide cholesteryl esters for lipoprotein secretion from hepatocytes and intestinal mucosa.

Description

IGFBP6 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing amino acids 148-240 and having a molecular mass of 20 kDa including 4kDa His tag.
IGFBP6 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Physical Appearance

Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.

Formulation

IBP-6 was lyophilized from a concentrated (1mg/ml) solution containing 1X PBS, 0.1% SDS and 1mM DTT.

Solubility

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Insulin-Like Growth Factor Binding Protein-6 in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Stability

Lyophilized IBP6 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution
IGFBP-6 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Purity

Greater than 80.0% as determined by(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.
