Introduction:
HBsAg is the surface antigen of the Hepatitis-B-Virus (HBV). The capsid of a virus has different surface proteins from the rest of the virus. The antigen is a protein that binds specifically on one of these surface proteins. It is commonly referred to as the Australian Antigen.

Physical Appearance:
Sterile Filtered clear solution.

Formulation:
Sterile Filtered solution containing 10mM phosphate, 145mM sodium chloride and 0.1% NaN₃ as a preservative.

Stability:
HBsAg Should be stored at 4°C between 3-4 weeks and for future use should be stored desiccated below -18°C .

Purity:
Greater than 98.0% as determined by:
(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE Coomassie staining.

Application:
HBsAg was tested in ELISA with anti-HBsAg antibodies (capture and conjugate).
Immunochromatography (capture and conjugate).
Immunogen for monoclonal antibody production.
