About GHRP:

GHRP stands for growth hormone-releasing peptides, which are a series of hepta/hexapeptides found in both humans and animals. GHRP is primarily responsible for facilitating the release of growth hormone in the body. It is not to be confused with growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), as they share no sequence relation.

GHRP Structure
The structure of growth hormone-releasing peptides depends on which ones are considered. Some members of the GHRP have seven peptides, while others have six. There are also some rare instances of ones with less than these. However, GHRP-6 (a hexapeptide) is often the most commonly seen and discussed of these hormones.

GHRP Functions & Mechanism
The key function of GHRP is to aid in the secretion of GH within the body. However, the precise mechanism for this action is yet to be discovered. It is strongly believed that there are sites on the hypothalamus and pituitary glands that serve as points of action. Other regulatory factors are also believed to come into effect to facilitate the mechanism of action for these peptides.
GRHP is the same in men and women, though it does change depending on age. Humans see an increase in GRHP production from their birth, all the way through to puberty. Following this, production begins to decrease as the body gets older.

GHRP Interactions
GHRP interacts with receptors in the body that stimulate its functions. As mentioned, the exact receptors are still departed, though it is often referred to as the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR). Naturally, these peptides also interact with the growth hormone (GH) in the body.
