Introduction
|
Caspase-2 is a protein which belongs to the cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) family. Sequential activation of caspases has a central role in the execution-phase of cell apoptosis. Caspases exist as inactive proenzymes which undergo proteolytic processing at conserved aspartic residues to produce two subunits, large and small, that dimerize to form the active enzyme. The proteolytic cleavage of Caspase-2 is induced by a variety of apoptotic stimuli.

Applications
|
Caspase-2 antibody has been tested by ELISA and Western blot analysis to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results. Recommended dilution range for Western blot analysis is 1:500 ~ 1,000. Recommended starting dilution is 1:500.
