Introduction AFP is normally synthesized in the liver, intestinal tract, and yolk sac of the fetus. Antibody to AFP has been shown to be useful in detecting hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC) and germ cell neoplasms, especially yolk sac tumors.
Description Human alpha-fetoprotein purified from human cord serum.
Source Human cord serum.
Physical Appearance Sterile Filtered clear solution.
Formulation Alpha Fetoprotein protein at 2.5mg/ml 0.1M PBS buffer pH 7.4 containing 0.1% NaN3.
Stability Store vial at -20°C to -80°C. When stored at the recommended temperature, this protein is stable for 12 months.
